Rocktronica from Blox
Where Rock music has a cage fight with Electronic Production!!
Blox aka Nat ‘NJC’ Clarkson is spearheading the UK Rocktronica sound, combining elements of Rock music with Electronic Dance sounds and production. Creating a new dancefloor friendly version, pretty much unheard of in the UK and the world of music as a whole. To obtain this unique sound Blox has collaborated with a number of established producers, singers, rappers and musicians (Q Project (One half of Total Science), Charlie O’Neill (Hype Music/MTV), Voodoo Browne (Ambiel Music), Spencer Lee Horton, Ian Harvey (The Harvs / Them Harvey Boys) Kev Thorpe (Kevin Energy / NEC / Deckajam), Nick Sanett (Deckajam), Dan Atkins, Luke Atkins, Nathan Lusher (Junkfoxx), Drew Flanagan and last but definitely not least Laura Bayston (Laura & The Boutique). Just under a year in the making the project has been conjured up by the groups long running Ivor Award winning music publisher and mentor, ‘Ola’ from the Just Another Music Group (JAL, The DML, JAMS) the guys have delivered a smashing selection of anthems that will pin back the ears and Rock the socks of those who listen. Designed for the club and upfront music scenes of the UK and beyond this refreshing sound is here to make an impact in the coming new year and beyond.
The Blox fraternity have enlisted the help of essex boy DJ Craig Fury (DPPLGNGRS / Hottwerk Records) to take the sound to the system, as the primary DJ for the collective. Fury has been on the rave circuit since the mid 90′s and is renown for backing innovative music. This sound is yet to reach the masses and when it does we are positive it will rock the world of not only electronic dance music but also Rock. Watch the legends of Rock take note and probably follow…..
New tracks currently in Production
The latest productions feature vocals from Laura Bayston on a track called ‘Crazytown’ & Drew Flanagan who has donated the vital organs of a song he wrote called ‘Twiggy & The Gorilla Zombie’ which has been flung into the mix too. Both Laura and Drew have their own individual sound to offer the Blox project with Laura being a classically trained vocalist with years of professional singing experience behind her, and secondly Drew is the explicit frontman for Southampton based Rock ‘n’ Roll outfit ‘Blackbombers’, who in they’re own right are developing a cult following around the UK and deep into Europe after the release of the debut album ‘Outlaw’.
